Sound Production students record song with local Primary School!

Students from the Sound Production department at Cumbernauld campus recently took a break from their normal studies to help pupils from St Mary’s Primary School to record, mix and master a charity single.

Organised with the help of local singer-songwriter Elaine Lennon, pupils from P5 to P7 joined forces with HNC/D and BA Sound Production students in the studios at Cumbernauld for a whirlwind day of music making.

The song titled ‘Win this Fight’ was especially composed by Elaine and the pupils to release on World Environment Day to raise awareness of climate change, the environment, and to raise funds for the school.

Paula Brazil, Head Teacher of St Mary’s said, “The children have had a ball and thoroughly enjoyed their time in the studio. We would like to thank the staff and students from the Sound Production department at Cumbernauld for all their help. I think many of our young people are inspired for the future!”

The single has been launched on YouTube today, and can be viewed here: https://youtu.be/ZEIqPYndOlw
