NCL builds global partnerships!
Partners from China, Mongolia and The Philippines were with us last week for the final meeting of the UK-China-Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) project, a 2-day event to conclude the project before the deadline of the grant at the end of April 2024.
The grant was secured in 2019 and the project includes partner institutions in China, Mongolia and the Philippines with the purpose of promoting and improving Dental Nursing education in these partner countries.
Partners in attendance were: Delegates from the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences and the National University of the Philippines. Unfortunately partners from Chifeng University and Heze Medical College were not granted UK visas and therefore unable to attend in person. However, our Dental Nursing partners from Shijianzhuang Medical College attended the meeting to represent China.
In addition to meetings specific to the project, partners had the opportunity to meet a group of our HNC Dental Nursing students who did a presentation on their course and provided feedback on the Dental Nursing manual which was written by the 5 partner organisations as a project outcome.
There was also a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding among the partners. Although this funding comes to an end, all partners wish to continue this collaboration in order to strengthen international relationships and upscale the quality of dental nursing education worldwide through multilateral activities.
