Overview

This course will start your journey to either Animal Care, Science or environmental conservation.

You will be introduced to the basics of biology and animal care, environmental science and sustainability. You will have the opportunity to explore current topics and careers in these areas and help you make a decision what sector you would like to work in the future.

The ideal candidate would enjoy working outdoor and in the lab and would be keen on exploring the world using a scientific eye.

Entry
  • There are no formal entrance qualifications in science, however we would ask that you have the ability to demonstrate an interest in Science and/or work experience with animals or in conservation.
  • The course includes work outdoor and in the lab: you should be physically fit to stand for long periods of time and be able to complete physically demanding tasks.
  • You may be asked to provide a successful reference.
  • You should also be able to demonstrate success in your learning or working life.
  • Participation at an information session and interview forms part of the selection criteria.
  • A full and detailed personal statement must be completed when applying. Your personal statement MUST give an indication of the type of career you are interested in & why you are suited to the course and this will be used as an entry criteria.
