Overview

The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Childhood Practice at SCQF level 8 is designed to support the professional development of practitioners who wish to enhance their professional practice and/or are aspiring to be managers of services for children and young people.

The course is delivered as a part-time course over 18 months. The course will be delivered two evenings per week. The course will be blended with one class delivered on campus and the other delivered online.

 

Please note to be eligible for this course you must be 18 by 31st October 2024 due to health and safety legislation.

 

Entry

You will be qualified to SCQF level 7, e.g. HNC Early Education and Childcare or HNC Childhood Practice; SVQ Level 3Children’s Care, Learning and Development or SVQ Level 3 Social Services: Children and Young People; Playwork or equivalent 

 

You may be in a supervisory role of employment within the Early Years' sector, or may wish to continue in your training prior to employment.

A successful performance at interview stage is also required.

Learn

The PDA Group Award is achieved on the successful attainment of five double credit mandatory units. In total, you will need to achieve 80 HN credits to achieve the full Group Award.
