Overview

Interested in becoming a tattoo artist, illustrator or designer? Then this may be the course to get you started on a path to a range of careers within the visual and creative arts. This course is designed to provide an introduction to art and design. You will spend time in our art studio facilities and digital media labs studying introductory units in drawing, illustration, painting, graphic design, digital media using Adobe products, lino and screen printing.

Whether you are a young or a more mature learner, who has been away from education for a while, this course is designed for you.

You bring the creativity and enthusiasm and we will provide all the materials and equipment needed.

Entry

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements at this level, candidates should be enthusiastic and keen to try new methods and approaches to art and design. 

Please note: At application stage you will be required to submit a small portfolio of your work. Entry may also be subject to a satisfactory interview

Learn

Throughout the course, you will work on a wide range of projects including: character development, graphic novel creation and tattoo design.

You will gain experience using a variety of materials & techniques and develop skills in the following areas:

  • Research and Investigation
  • Drawing
  • Illustration
  • Painting
  • Printmaking
  • Adobe Digital Software
  • Sketchbook Development

All materials and equipment will be provided for your studies, subject to eligible bursary requirements.

We’ll help you build a creative portfolio which showcases your talent and takes you on to the next step of your journey.

Additionally, you will take part in collaborative projects and exhibit your work at the end-of-year exhibition.
