Interested in a flexible, high-earning career in the Computing and Digital Technologies industry? Our HND Web Development with UX Design will build on and expand the knowledge and skills gained during your HNC to help you thrive in this exciting and ever-evolving digital tech sector.

Year 2 of the course combines front-end and back-end web development incorporating client and server-side technologies as well as some software, game and app development. The course gives you the opportunity to specialise in front-end development and UX design or back-end development and software.

Due to our close ties to industry, this course is constantly adapting to keep pace with the skills and technologies required to work in this sector. Opportunities for work experience and additional client projects may be available throughout the course. 

 

Entry

One of the following:

Year 1 entry - minimum of 1 Higher and enthusiasm for the subject area
Direct entry into Year 2 of this course will be considered if you have a current HNC Digital Design & Web Development, HNC Interactive Media or HNC Computing qualification
Applications will be considered on an individual basis. Undertaking of additional units may be required.

Previous employment or practical experience may be considered in place of formal entry requirements for Year 1 entry.

Entry is also subject to a satisfactory interview, and an academic reference may be requested.

Throughout the course you will work with current and readily available coding and design tools as well as have access to the latest Adobe and Microsoft software and cloud learning. You will also be given the opportunity to study towards Adobe and Microsoft certification, enter competitions and take on external design and web development-related work as well attend talks from speakers working within the industry.
