HNC Professional Dance Performance
Overview
The HNC Professional Dance Performance course will allow you to develop the necessary dance technique, performance and choreographic skills required for the Dance Industry. The course is designed to help you build a robust technique and prepare you for the profession as a confident and versatile dancer.
This highly practical, vocational qualification is aimed at students wishing to pursue a career in a variety of dance environments.
Entry
Entry is by audition only. This will enable lecturers to gain a realistic assessment of your suitability for the qualification and the physical requirements of the course.
Higher English and/or Higher Dance/NC Dance are recommended but not essential. You must have previous dance experience to access this programme.
Learn
This course focuses primarily on highly practical learning and development in a variety of dance disciplines including classical ballet; contemporary; jazz; tap; commercial; production and performance; anatomy and injury prevention and body conditioning. Students will also have the opportunity to take part in industry-led workshops and classes, as part of their training, to gain knowledge and experience of current trends in the profession. All the lecturers on the Dance courses are highly trained with years of industry experience. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in live performances in public performance spaces.
