ESOL - All Levels
Overview
ESOL courses starting January 2025
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is designed to support learners in their development of Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking. This is done in different contexts in relation to English development including Work, Study & Everyday Life.
Click 'Apply Now' at the bottom of this page to complete the application and a member of our team will be in touch to carry out an assessment, determining the level that you will be placed at. Costs will vary dependent on the level you are placed at.
Residency Information
If you have not always lived in Scotland your application may go onto ‘hold residency’ status, an email will be sent to you, (please check your junk emails as well) requesting further information by asking you questions.
Along with your answers, proof of your residency is required. If you have come from an EU country a share (not an employer one) is required so your residency status can be confirmed. If you are from a non-EU country then a copy of the front and back of your residence card is required.
An email will be sent to you from Finance Residency informing you that your details have been updated and inform you of the cost of this course.
Once this information has been received your details will be updated and the hold will be released on your application allowing it to progress onto the next stage with the department, the status will then show as ‘awaiting faculty screening’ or ‘book interview’.
Entry
After enquiring your application will be screened by a member of staff who will place you at the appropriate level.
Depending on which level you are placed, will determine the length of class sessions- these will run for 18 weeks.
Learn
Our ESOL courses will teach you how to read, write, listen and speak in English in different contexts.
